To further improve cancer prevention and control system, and to enhance cancer care services in Hubei province, the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hubei Province officially approved the establishment of Hubei Provincial Cancer Prevention and Research Center in October, 2004, affiliated to Hubei Caner Hospital. The Center was renamed formally as Hubei Province Cancer Center in 2011.

    The main responsibility of the Center is assisting the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hubei Province to formulate the planning of cancer prevention and treatment in the whole province, to establish collaborative networks, to organize the information collection related to cancer registration, etc., to promote appropriate and effective technology, to explore service mode, to conduct scientific research of cancer prevention and control, to carry out personnel training, academic exchanges and cooperation, etc.
