The Department of Pathology is one of the provincial key clinical speciality, postgraduate training base of Wuhan University, postgraduate internship base of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. It integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research. The department of pathology is principally engaged in the pathological diagnosis, frozen section diagnosis, clinical cytology diagnosis and inter-hospital cases  consultation. The Department of pathology works together with  universities and research institutes to build a platform in application of nano-materials technology, having gained important achievement.
