On October 31st, 2014, Hubei Anti-cancer Association Tumor Psychology Specialized Committee Inaugural Conference and The First Tumor Psychological Academic Conference were held in Wuhan, sponsored jointly by Hubei Anti-cancer Society, Hubei Cancer Hospital(HBCH) and Hubei Anti-cancer Association Tumor Psychology Specialized Committee.
Professor Shaozhong Wei, the Dean of HBCH, and the director of Rehabilitation Department, Peking University Cancer Hospital, and Professor Lili Tang, the chairman of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Tumor Psychology Specialized Committee, all attended the event and delivered speeches. Professor Guangchan Li, the secretary-general of Hubei Anti-cancer Association, announced the members of the first committee. Xiaoyi Zhou, the chief of Xinran Psychology Studio and HBCH Radiotherapy Center, organized the conference. More than 300 professional experts attended the conference.
It is reported that Hubei Anti-cancer Association Tumor Psychology Specialized Committee is the fourth Chinese local Tumor Psychology Specialized Committee, after Beijing, Hebei and Shandong. Chief Physician Xiaoyi Zhou was elected as the first chairman of the Committee, 65 experts from 36 Hubei Provincial hospitals were elected as the first members.
Hubei Tumor Psychology Specialized Committee will provide a new platform for tumor psychology academic exchanges, and further promote the majority of cancer tumors psychological clinicians to continuously update the knowledge and technology, to improve the ability of identifying and handling psychological problems from cancer patients and to actively carry out the clinical psychology health education, hereby, to provide psychological support to cancer patients and to promote Hubei Province tumor psychological profession to rapidly flourish.
The first tumor psychology academic conference was held whereafter, Professor Lili Tang, Professor Xiaoyi Zhou and other experts delivered wonderful special reports. Chairman Xiaoyi Zhou said, tumor psychology is a new cross-discipline which could be systematically researched from the combination of psychology, sociology and oncology.
